Energy Pyramids

Energy Pyramids:
  • A graphic flow of energy
  • The lowest level is the easiest pray that is killed
  • The highest spot on the pyramids is the smallest which is the top of food chain that can't be killed
Energy Pyramids Include
  • Producers- Bring energy from non-living resources (bottom of the food chain)
  • Primary consumers- Eat the producers (Second level also know as herbivores)
  • Secondary consumers- Eat the primary consumers (three level and know as carnivores)
  • Tertiary consumers- Eat the secondary consumers (top of the food chain)
Visual/ Video/ Animation

Reflection
While doing this topic I got review on what each of the levels are called and the levels of the food chain that they are in. Also I have got a review on what animals and plants are in each selection. This also lets you understand why there are more producers than any other level. These videos and visuals let you understand that producers create themselves,  why the primary consumers eat the producers, why the secondary consumers eat the primary consumer, and why the tertiary consumers eat all of them. This is because the top eats the 2nd level with eat the 1st level and the 1st eats the bottom which means that all have the animal before and the animal they ate before they were eaten.

  1. I enjoyed the videos and the layout of the blog, I feel it is in a great position to explain the topic. I like how you summarized what you learned in your reflection but I think you may be missing some of your topics that the rubric expressed needed to be in the reflection. If I were you I would have added that all energy comes from the sun, and the difference between a food chain and a energy pyramid. As well as how they are connected.

  2. I feel the layout of your post works very well for studying. You began by explaining what energy pyramids are, then you continued by breaking down the definition. Lastly, you included some visuals and videos. I think that would be very helpful to those who still need extra help. In your reflection you mentioned that you got a review, was this a topic you previously enjoyed or was it a topic you needed a fresher on? I think you could've added a little more information about how each level acquires energy from the previous level. Other than that, you did a very good job!
