Fast Facts:
- The mitochondria is the "power house" of the cell; it stores energy or ATP for the cell
- Cellular Respiration takes place here
- It has folds, known as cristae, in the interior to increase the surface area
- Found in both animal and plant cells
Reflection:
I already knew that the mitochondria essentially powers the cell with energy or ATP. One thing I did not know and learned was about the folds inside the mitochondria that were meant to increase the surface area. I liked learning about the cells and the cell organelles since it was easy and a review from 7th grade. It is important for us to learn about the mitochondria because without it our cells would not be able to produce energy for us to use.
I like how you wrote your facts, they were easy to understand and said exactly what you need to know about mitochondria cells. I also liked learning about cells and cell organelles in 7th grade, it was one of my favorite topics! I would add how your muscles need the most energy.
